Sterling: `Pep got back the football, which Pellegrini took away from me.`

The Manchester City player Raheem Stirling admitted that he receives much greater freedom in his game by confident picks from the manager Josep Guardiola and that is the main reason to perform more strongly than he did with Manuel Pellegrini as a head coach.
Before the start of the last season, the English player went from Liverpool to Manchester City for 49 million pounds, having had a difficult debut campaign with the team of the Citizens. To the end, he used to sit on the bench and came in as a backup. This has led to doubts whether the former ace of the Merseysiders was worth the money, but now similar questions seem irrelevant.
Against Barcelona in the Champions League last night, he reported with an assist on a 3:1 success. `I enjoy working with Guardiola. I feel more freedom, I feel that I can play a bit more with the ball and I can express myself with every touch and experience for dribbling.`, said Sterling.
`Under the leadership of the previous coach, I think - not to say something negative - it was different. At the workouts, we always strived to play with a maximum of two touches, so got used to it and more or less you forget your identity and how to play football.`
`That`s not my style. My game by confident picks is to get the ball and try to get past opponents. Now I learn how to interleave, so as not to end up at a dead end each time. I`m trying to figure out when to play with two touches and when to pass near the defender.`, added Sterling.
