The Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expects a serious battle for the title and believes that it is still too early to draw conclusions that the Citizens and their city rival Manchester United are the main contenders. The two rivals lead with 13 points, three more than the other pretenders.
`I think there are six contenders. We have an advance, but it is minimal, and no one knows what will happen in the future. Last season, we also got off to a bad start, even though we had fewer points than now. In the previous campaign, there were some positive things. I think I am a good manager and we are fighting as a normal team. I believe in the quality that we have.`, said Guardiola.
The `sky-blue` will welcome the last Crystal Palace, who is without a point or a goal scored. However, Pep does not underestimate them.
`I respect them and I saw how they played in their past two games according hockey rules when they created a lot of positions. They can be dangerous and my players should be aware that they can lose. Roy Hodgson has an excellent career and I admire him.`, he commented.
The captain Vincent Kompany may fall in the group, after missing the previous four matches and so he will give another option to his mentor, also considering the upcoming clash of the Champions League.
