Yokic was going to quit

Nikola Jokic played the best basketball in his career, but he was still considering giving up the sport last year. The reason, however, is not related to his club by sport tips team but to the national team of Serbia. The young basketball player did not play for his country on EuroBasket 2017 to be able to concentrate on his momentous appearances with the Nuggets team, which ultimately brought him a five-year maximum contract. However, some Serbian basketball fans did not take Jokic`s move well and accused him of unwilling to help his country by pouring him with unpleasant messages on social networks. The player himself accepts the incident very hard and in an interview with Sportklub reveals that he was on the brink of ending his career.

'I was really uncomfortable. At one point, I even said I did not want to play basketball anymore!', says Jokic. The 208-centimeter high player has a silver medal at the Olympic Basketball Tournament in Rio with the team of Serbia. His decision to rest from the national team last summer paid off well and he recorded his strongest season in the NBA - 18. 5 points, 10. 7 rebounds and 6. 1 assists in 75 games for Denver.
