Coulthard compared Leclerc to a puppy. Former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard claims that Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc still has problems that Red Bull`s Max Verstappen has already dealt with.
In my opinion, Max came into F1 as a ready-made driver, just with some rough edges, while others took more time. Charles is still like a puppy who urinates on the carpet from time to time.
But when they fix all these little mistakes, I think we will be in the golden era of F1, " the Briton said on the Formula For Success podcast.
David also shared his opinion about McLaren driver Lando Norris, who fought with Verstappen during the 2024 season:
Outside the car, they are both very gentle, ordinary people. As far as racing personalities go, Max probably puts out his elbows a little more compared to Lando.
But this is a process of growth. How old is Lando? 26 or 27. In many ways they are still boys. I felt like around age 30 I kind of figured out what life was all about, and that coincided with some of my best performances.
