The former Brazilian tennis player Gustavo Kuerten spoke not particularly optimistic about the chances of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer to win at least one more Grand Slam title. According to Kuerten, the Rafa`s injuries will hinder him to be 100% on his form, and without it happened the Spaniard will has difficulties to win a Grand Slam title.
"I do not think that we would see Rafa as No1 in the world. His chances to win at least one more Grand Slam title are also not too big . If he is not 100% on a level of play, there is nothing to do against the other top players, " said Kuerten for the magazine Tennis News.
"I compare the situation at him with me. After my first surgery, I did not feel a pain, but I could not run on the same way, which was a problem. If you can not run in 100%, then you automatically lose 15% or 20% of your chances. The challenge for Nadal is Djokovic, who is the favorite in the Grand Slam."
Anyway Guga gave a little hope to the fans of Nadal: "In 2013, I have not thought, that he would be able to return in such a way. This gives him a hope now. The boy is from another planet. We can not count him out, because he won only 2-3 titles. But sometimes the results in Grand Slam talk more. "
"To beat Djokovic in 5 sets, Nadal has to play his best tennis ,at the same time to hope Nole not have his best day. Even he would be late with a set and he looks defeated, the Serb can always reverse the progression of the game."
Kuerten is not sure whether Djokovic can improve the achievement of Federer with Grand Slam titles, but he is convinced that Djokovic can be very close to it.
"Since at the beginning of the year I have predicted that Djokovic can get close to Federer and won 3 of the 4 Grand Slam trophies. The difference between Novak and the other guys is that he can win the game predicted by confident picks even he played at 80% of his capacity. I think he can win 6 more Grand Slam titles in the next three years ,because his rivalry is not cruel. Perhaps Murray can reach his level, but for Federer and Nadal it will become increasingly difficult. "
